“Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.” — 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (CEV)
A lot of people wish God would just write in the sky what he wants them to do. But God isn’t going to write in the sky what he’s already written in his Book!
Everything you need to know God and to live a life of purpose and meaning is found in his Word. If you’re not regularly opening your Bible, then you’re missing out on hearing from him. Have I told you lately you should read your Bibles?
The more you fill your mind with Scripture, the more clearly you’ll recognize his voice guiding you day by day.
God gave us the Bible for four reasons: to teach us, to help us, to correct us, and to show us how to live.
Notice in the verse above that Paul says “everything” and “all of it.” That means every verse has value. It’s 100 percent reliable and 100 percent practical—truth you can build your life on. Whether you’re facing a decision, a challenge, or a moment of doubt, you’ll find wisdom and direction in God’s Word.
Some passages are easy to understand, while others require patience and study. But even the hard-to-grasp parts serve a purpose: they stretch your faith and draw you closer to the Author.
The more time you spend in Scripture, the more you’ll see how it all fits together to reveal God’s love and plan for your life.
That’s why a consistent quiet time is so important. Start small—just ten minutes a day. Sit quietly with an open Bible and an open heart. Let God speak through his Word as you read and pray. Over time, those moments will become a lifeline, giving you strength, wisdom, and peace.
Psalm 119:105 reminds us, “Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path” (GNT).
The Bible is like a lamp for your journey—it doesn’t show you the next ten miles, but it will always give you enough light for your next step. That’s what walking by faith looks like: trusting God one verse, one step, and one day at a time.
