More of God, Not Just More From God

“The LORD looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.” (Psalm 14:2 NIV)

Many people spend their life seeking what God can DO for them, rather than seeking God for the sake of getting to know him.

Sometimes, people only pray to God when they need healing or a miracle — and those prayers are not wrong. God invites us to bring our needs to Him. He is a good Father who cares about what we face.

BUT, when our relationship with God is built ONLY around asking him for things, we are missing out, big time. It’s okay to want a miracle. Yet, if that is the only reason we come to God, we miss the greater gift: knowing Him.

We are meant to seek God, not just His blessings. We are invited to pursue Him, to learn His character, to recognize His voice, and to walk closely with Him in everyday life.

Proverbs reminds us, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” (Proverbs 8:17 NIV). God does not hide from people who genuinely want Him. When we seek Him with sincerity, He reveals Himself.

I encourage you to make knowing God your number one goal. Not success. Not comfort. Not happiness. Seek God first and let everything else follow.

And, a life centered around knowing God WILL bring you blessings. Joy is a byproduct of walking closely with God. Confidence does not come from circumstances — it grows from knowing who God is and who we are in Him.

If you truly know God, you won’t live trapped in fear, because you know the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords walks with you. You don’t face life alone. You live under His care, His guidance, and you have His peace.

If you want peace that doesn’t depend on your circumstances, the answer isn’t changing your situation — it’s deepening your relationship with God.

I encourage you to seek God today. Not hurriedly. Not distractedly. Seek Him wholeheartedly — and you will find Him.
