Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) says, “For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
You are not an accident. You are not an afterthought. The Bible says you are God’s masterpiece.
That means God shaped you intentionally—with purpose, with care, and with a plan in mind long before you were ever born.
Our culture often tells us that life is about comfort, convenience, and getting more for ourselves. But God says something very different. He says your life isn’t about what you get—it’s about what you give.
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…”
Notice it says each of you. That includes you.
God has given you unique gifts, abilities, experiences, and even passions—not just for your benefit, but so you can make a difference in the lives of others.
You weren’t put on this earth to simply take up space, chase comfort, or coast through life. You were created to serve God—and the primary way you do that is by serving people.
Some people say, “I want to serve God, I just don’t want to deal with people.” But the reality is—you can’t separate the two. The Bible has a word for this kind of life: ministry. Now, that word can feel intimidating or confusing. When people hear “minister,” they often think of a pastor, priest, or someone on a stage. But the Bible teaches: Every believer is a minister.
Not everyone is called to be a pastor, but everyone is called to serve. If you’ve been called to salvation, you’ve also been called to service. If you’re following Jesus, then serving others isn’t optional—it’s part of what it means to follow Him fully.
The best part? God didn’t just tell us to serve—He showed us how.
Jesus came to earth and modeled the life we’re meant to live.
Matthew 20:28 (NLT) says, “For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others…”
Think about that. If anyone ever deserved to be served, it was Jesus. And yet, He chose to serve. He healed. He helped. He loved. He gave His time, His energy, and ultimately His life.
Jesus taught that the way to truly live is to give your life away.
And here’s the surprising truth: The greatest joy you’ll ever experience isn’t found in being served—it’s found in serving others.
There is something deeply fulfilling about being used by God to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Right now, there are people all around us who are hurting, in need, or simply waiting for someone to care.
So here’s a simple challenge: Let’s go help someone this week. Look for a need. Meet it. Be the hands and feet of Jesus.
