Community Groups are the heart and soul of Seminole Community Church. Made up of individuals and couples, these groups are bi-weekly small group gatherings where the real community in our “Community Church” happens. Simply put, life is shared together – friendships form, faith is fanned into flame and individual cares and concerns are addressed. It’s the place where the verse, “By this all men (and women) will know you are My disciples, if you have love for one another,” takes on tangible form.
Groups made up of about a dozen or so people, meet at varying times and in varying locations. While each group is as unique as the individuals who attend, all groups offer a time for socializing, usually involving a shared dessert, snack or for some, a full-blown meal. They also all provide an opportunity for prayer and a chance for some faith-growing discussion or even a light Bible study.
Several of our Community Groups meet on the church campus while others congregate in group leaders’ homes. A few supply childcare, but most groups opt to have its attenders make their own arrangements. We believe that it is important for groups to have a comfortable place to gather with minimal distractions so group members can relax and feel free to share. Community Groups really are the best way to truly get to know people…and to be known.
